Personal Survival & Stroke Improvement Skills

This introductory program focuses on building essential water skills and confidence.
Here's what you will learn:
-
Water Comfort: Become comfortable and confident in the water, both in shallow and deep waters.
-
Essential Movement: Master fundamental skills like forward and backward movement.
-
Safe Practices: Learn how to safely enter and exit the pool.
-
Water Safety Awareness: Gain a solid understanding of personal water safety principles to stay safe in and around different aquatic environments.
Stage 4 takes survival training to the next level by introducing advanced skills while maintaining the challenge of swimming in clothes.
Participants continue to wear swimwear, shorts, and a t-shirt, and must now:
-
Master Treading Water: Develop the ability to stay afloat in deep water while fully clothed.
-
Perform Throw Rescues: Learn how to effectively execute a rescue by throwing a flotation device to someone in need, all while managing the challenges of swimming in clothes.
Why is this so important?
-
Simulates Real-Life: Accidents often happen when people are fully dressed. This stage simulates the added difficulty of swimming in wet clothing, which can significantly increase drag and energy expenditure.
-
Builds Crucial Skills: Participants will learn how to successfully conserve energy and stay buoyant even when weighed down by wet and heavy clothes, which is essential for surviving unexpected emergencies like falling into deep water or being caught in a flood.
-
Develops Confidence: Successfully completing these challenging tasks boosts confidence and prepares participants to handle real-life aquatic emergencies more effectively.
